On Thursday, September 18, the Polish-Romanian Business Cooperation Day took place in Bucharest. The event was organized by the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Upper Silesian Fund, and the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting brought together representatives of Romania’s central administration, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bucharest, business support institutions from both countries, as well as Polish and Romanian entrepreneurs.
This special occasion was held on the sidelines of a delegation of Silesian companies to Romania, led by Upper Silesian Fund.
The event was officially opened by:
- Iuliu Stocklosa – President, Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- Joanna Sztubert – Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bucharest.
- Gabriel Mareș – Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
- Adam Sobieszkoda – Executive Director, Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Discussion Panels
The program featured two high-level discussion panels dedicated to opportunities, strategies, and challenges in Polish-Romanian cooperation.
Panel I: Polish-Romanian Economic Cooperation – Current Situation, Challenges, Opportunities, and Areas of Collaboration
Speakers:
- Agnieszka Olsen – Head of Foreign Trade Office in Bucharest, Polish Investment and Trade Agency.
- Jan Majewski – Branch Director, PKO Bank Polski – Romanian Branch.
- Andrei Babadac – Adviser, Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (ARICE).
- Radu Postolache – Board Member, ANIS – Employer’s Association of the Software and Services Industry.
The debate highlighted general cooperation opportunities, prospects for Polish exporters and investors, and sectors with the greatest potential. Special emphasis was placed on the IT industry, where both countries’ competitive ecosystems create a strong foundation for deeper bilateral and international cooperation.
Panel II: Cooperation Strategies Between Polish and Romanian Companies – Experiences of Trading and Investment Companies from a Financial and Legal Perspective

- Ovidiu Valeanu – Managing Partner, bnt Gilescu & Valeanu.
- Piotr Jabłoński – Managing Director, International Relations Division, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.
This session focused on the legal and financial frameworks supporting bilateral business activity. Examples included EXIM’s solutions for securing payments on transactions involving Ukrainian markets, as well as important differences between civil law contracts (B2B) in Poland and Romania.

The event concluded with company presentations by members of the Silesian business delegation to Romania, including:
