On May 9-10, the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the International Business Forum in Timișoara organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the Timiș Region. The event was a great opportunity to establish new business contacts, exchange experiences, meet representatives of economic self-government and business, and most importantly, build and strengthen Polish-Romanian cooperation. The Polish delegation was one of six official foreign delegations invited by the organizers. In addition to the delegation from Poland, the event was attended by delegations from Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Italy.
Our Chamber was represented by Executive Director Adam Sobieszkoda, who in his speech emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Poland and Romania and the importance of mutual trade relations. The balance of foreign trade between Poland and Romania exceeded EUR 11 billion in 2023, and Poland is the 4th most important partner of Romania, considering Romanian imports.
The Polish trade mission to Timișoara consisted of companies representing various industries: Orlen Paliwa from the petrochemical industry, Dynacon dealing in providing cybersecurity solutions for the industry, WSP Społem a producer of food products, MCR dealing in limestone mining.
The event was also attended by representatives of Polish companies operating on the Romanian market, including: PKO Bank Polski, which plans to open a corporate branch in Bucharest this year, as well as LOT Polish Airlines, which will launch an air connection between Warsaw and Oradea in June.
We would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the Timiș Region for the invitation and we invite Polish and Romanian companies to participate in the Forum in 2025.
