Inaugural meeting of the Chamber

On the 9 th of June 2016, representatives of 30 Romanian and Polish companies attended the Inaugural Meeting of the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted by the Romanian Embassy in Warsaw.

The working session was chaired by H.E. Mr. Ovidiu Dranga, the Ambassador of Romania to Poland, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Witold Waszczykowski, the Foreign Minister of Poland and H.E. Mr. Lazăr Comănescu, the Foreign Minister of Romania.

After inaugural speeches, Their Excellencies emphasized the need of a Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, in a context in which both countries are looking forward to strengthen their diplomatic relations and have a keen interest in developing more economic links. As Minister Waszczykowski pointed out, “Polish-Romanian economic relations are comprehensive and include many areas. We hope that establishing the Chamber will result in additionally strengthening the cooperation, especially in the area of innovative technologies. “Representatives of Polish and Romanian companies supported the creation of the Chamber and voted for its statute and Board members.

The president of the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce was appointed in the person of Mr. Gheorghe Marian Cristescu.

The Board of the Chamber will be represented by Mr. Cristescu, as president, alongside with Mrs. Eryka Gizińska and Mrs. Liliana Condratov.

Two members of INC S.A. management board became members of chamber bodies: Pawel Sliwinski has been elected as member of the Audit Committee and Piotr Białowąs will sit in the Fellowship Court.

The Chamber aims to support the development of economic relations between Poland and Romania and to increase trade between those countries.
