Study Visit of ADR Nord-Vest and Romanian Local Authorities to Poland, 17–20 March, 2026

On 17–20 March, the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a study visit to Poland for the North-West Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Vest) from Cluj-Napoca, as well as local government representatives from north-western Romania, including the municipalities of Rus, Cociuba Mare, Cojocna, Mărișel, and Târgu Lăpuș.

The initiative was led by ADR Nord-Vest based in Cluj-Napoca, represented during the visit by Petru Alboi-Șandru, Deputy Director General/Head of the Managing Authority for the North-West Regional Programme 2021–2027, and Anna Șargov, Head of Department for Smart Specialisation, State Aid and Innovative Financial Instruments. The visit was coordinated by Adam Sobieszkoda, Executive Director and Board Member of the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The main objective of the visit was to explore best practices in the effective implementation of European Union funds in Poland and the development of support programs for the agri-food sector.

During the study visit, the delegation held meetings at the Marshal Offices of the Lublin and Świętokrzyskie (Kielce) regions, where discussions focused on the management of EU funds, the development of the agri-food industry, and strengthening the competitiveness of local economies. The program also included site visits to leading Polish companies such as EWA-BIS, Sambor, Polmak Pasta Company, and Agram, as well as a presentation of cooperation opportunities offered by Targi Kielce. These visits provided participants with valuable practical insights and inspiration for further development of the agri-food sector in their regions.

The study visit provided Romanian local authorities with practical insights into the successful implementation of EU funds and the development of the agri-food sector. Through meetings with regional offices and visits to leading Polish companies, participants gained valuable knowledge, best practices, and inspiration to strengthen local economic competitiveness and support sustainable growth in their communities.
