Polish Hotel Holding (PHH), whose President is Mr. Gheorghe Marian Cristescu has been involved for a long time on several levels in social support for medical staff fighting on the first front with the prevailing pandemic. First activities began on 17th of March when 24-hour catering for over 300 employees of epidemiological stations in Warsaw was launched. In addition, over 30 trained employees support the National Health Found (NFZ) helpline. Together with employees of Polish Oil Minning and Gas Extraction (PGNiG), Polish Post (Poczta Polska) and PKO Bank Polski, among others, information is provided on the symptoms of coronavirus, on-call hospitals and the possibility of getting help.
As part of the same initiatives related to helping in fight against the epidemic, in consultation with the NFZ, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of State Assets, the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Governors, PHH has provided hotels for medical staff to minimize the risk of infection for their families and for isolation for coronavirus infected people, whose health does not require hospitalization. PHH also provides rooms in which oncological patients of the Institute of Mother and Child together with their guardians will be able to safely wait for the results of the examination for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Polish Hotel Holding has 27 active hotel facilities supporting the fight against the epidemic.
PHH has also founded the “Hotels for Medics” foundation, whose main goal is to finance accommodation for medical staff looking after people infected with coronavirus. The Foundation has the amount of 3.25 million PLN, which was collected thanks to the support of Polski Holding Nieruchomości (PHN), Polish Airports’ State Enterprise (PPL) and the Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW). In the near future other important institutions will also join in supporting this project.
