On Thursday, March 6, our Chamber held a reception on the occasion of Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day. The reception, held at the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek, was attended by Chamber members, friends and partners of the Chamber, as well as representatives of Polish and Romanian businesses.
The invited guests were welcomed at the welcoming ceremony by the Chamber’s Executive Director Adam Sobieszkoda. The reception was opened by President Gheorghe Marian Cristescu, who stressed the importance of Polish-Romanian relations and the Chamber’s role in shaping business and economic relations between the two countries. On behalf of the H.E. Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Poland, Minister Counsellor Ștefan Porojan presented the current state of economic relations between Poland and Romania, noting their growing importance. On behalf of the Museum, the guests were welcomed by director Dr. Robert Andrzejczyk, who explained the genesis of the Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day. A unique complement to the reception was a speech by Professor Grzegorz Nowik on Polish-Romanian relations in the interwar period and a guided tour of the guests through the Museum’s permanent exhibition.
The reception organized by our Chamber is part of the Chamber’s strategy and mission of developing and building Polish-Romanian economic and business relations based on the good historical relations between the two countries. Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day is celebrated on March 3, to commemorate the signing of the “Convention on Defense Alliance between the Republic of Poland and the Kingdom of Romania” in 1921.
We would like to thank representatives of partner organizations that attended the reception such as the Polish Chamber of Commerce (Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza), the Polish Development Bank (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego), the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (Polska Agencja Inwestycji i Handlu), the Union of Polish Entrepreneurs (Unia Polskich Przedsiębiorców), Centrum Business in Małopolska, the Upper Silesian Fund (Fundusz Górnośląski), the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Sibiu (Camera de Comert, Industrie si Agricultura Sibiu), members of our Chamber and representatives of invited companies from Poland and Romania for accepting the invitation and presence.
