On April 7, the seminar “Doing Business in Romania” was held in Białystok. Our Chamber, together with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Białystok (Izba Przemysłowo-Handlowa w Białymstoku), Podlaskie Export Center (Podlaskie Centrum Eksportera), Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal’s Office (Urząd Marszałkowski Województwa Podlaskiego), were the organizers of the event.
During the seminar, participants learned about business opportunities offered by the Romanian market for Polish companies. The seminar was opened by Anna Nawrocka from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Białystok, who talked about programs and opportunities to support entrepreneurs from the Podlaskie Voivodeship in international markets. The Chamber is one of the partners of the Podlaskie Export Center, which supports companies from the region abroad.
The specifics of the Romanian market were presented by the speakers:
- Agnieszka Olsen, Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) office in Bucharest – who introduced the Romanian market and the Agency’s offer for Polish companies.
- Miłosz Gibas, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego – who presented the bank’s offer to finance exports and foreign investments of Polish companies.
- Jan Majewski, PKO Bank Polski – branch office in Bucharest – who talked about financial services for companies in Romania.
- Marcin Pondo, Consulting Hungary – who talked about how to successfully develop e-commerce sales on the Romanian market.
- Aleksander Jakowlew, Kancelaria Hagen Jakowlew Wiśniewski i Wspólnicy – who talked about how and why to establish a company in Romania.
- Jacek Bąkowski, Raben Group – who presented an offer of groupage transport from PL to RO.
Ștefan Porojan, Minister Counsellor from the Economic and Commercial Promotion Office of the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Poland, was a special guest at the seminar. In his presentation, he emphasized Romania’s investment attractiveness and access to an educated and skilled workforce.
Our Chamber was represented by Adam Sobieszkoda, who talked about the Romanian market and Chamber’s activities.
The seminar in Lublin was another seminar that our Chamber co-organized to promote economic cooperation between Poland and Romania.
