POLISH – ROMANIAN ECONOMIC COOPERATION

On February 24th, a videoconference related to the development of Polish-Romanian economic relations took place on the initiative of PRBCC. The event was attended by representatives of the Cluj Napoca City Hall, including the Deputy Mayor Mr. Dan Ștefan Tarcea, as well as the Minister-Counselor Mr. Ștefan Porojan from the economic and commercial department of the Romanian Embassy in Warsaw and representatives of the Polish company Atlas Sp.zo.o., which is a leader in Central and Eastern Europe in the production of construction materials, operating in Romania through the company Cesal S.A.

The discussion turned into an opportunity to present the competitive advantages of the Cluj region and the openness of the local administration to join efforts meant to further encourage and facilitate the Polish business presence in Romania, as a way to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries and the overall bilateral interaction, which includes very solid ties in the diplomatic, economic, security, cultural and scientific areas.

As a matter of fact, the relations between Romania and Poland are characterized by particular dynamism and excellent cooperation, based on the bilateral Strategic Partnership, which was established in 2009 and renewed in 2015 at the level of heads of state. Romania is one of the most important directions of investment expansion for Polish enterprises, as it offers a favourable and stimulating environment for business development. According to the data of the Romanian Commercial Register, at the end of December 2020, 1,260 companies with Polish capital were registered in Romania and the number is systematically growing.
